It’s more like Clark Griswold in National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation fumbling over the clerk in the panty department.

Fear not ladies, YAHOO! asked Agent Provocateur’s creative director, Sarah Shotton, for a quick tutorial so that you don’t end up with something wildly boring or totally inappropriate.

1. Know Her Size. “The most important rule when buying lingerie is to ensure that you know your partner’s size before you go shopping. This avoids embarrassment and also guarantees that the lingerie fits properly. If you are unsure about size, opting for a baby doll or slip is a failsafe plan. 2. Color Is Key. “Different women prefer different shades depending on their hair, skin tones, and personality.
